The McPhillip Firm Scholarship for First-Generation College Students

Thirty years ago, Sean McPhillip was a freshman at New York University, attending only because an academic scholarship made it possible. That single opportunity changed the course of his life, his career, and ultimately the lives of every client The McPhillip Firm has fought for since. Now he is paying it forward.

The McPhillip Firm is proud to offer a $25,000 scholarship to a deserving high school senior who will be the first in their family to earn a college degree.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

  • You must be a graduating high school senior
  • You must have been accepted to an accredited college or university for the upcoming fall semester.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • You are the first person in your immediate family to go to college.
This scholarship is open to students pursuing any field of study.

How to Apply

  1. 1. Write Your Essay

    Submit a two-to-three-page essay about your career objectives. Tell us what you are working toward, what is driving you, and how a college education will help you get there.

  2. 2. Gather Your Documents

    Have your transcript or proof of GPA ready, along with proof of acceptance to your college or university for the fall semester.

  3. 3. Submit Your Application

    Complete the application form below to upload your essay, documents, and contact information. One submission per applicant.

Sean McPhillip started The McPhillip Firm with a firm belief that everyone deserves a fair shot, whether they are fighting for justice after a serious injury or for a seat in a college classroom. Financial circumstances should not be a barrier that prevents a talented, determined student from reaching their full potential.
